Spring Blooms

Spring Blooms   9" x 12"   Available
Last week I went out painting at my friend's farm.  He has a very old farm house, and the bushes were just starting to bloom.  Early spring has a beautiful variety of greens, along with all the blooming flowers and trees. The weather was glorious!

Tractor Glow

Tractor Glow  9" by 12"
I have driven by this old tractor for a long time.  It rests on a farm near where I live, and it hasn't moved in years. I always wanted to paint it, especially since it has aged to a beautiful rust color. I went out  late one afternoon, when the sun was getting low in the sky, and it just lit up this tractor. I really liked the contrast between the tractor in the bright light, and the other tractors inside the shed  that were more in shadow.

Still Waters

Still Waters   9" by 12"
I am really looking forward to painting again outside at the marinas in the area.  I love the sculptural shapes of boats, and enjoyed painting this one in Port Washington, Wisconsin.  These boats were moored close to land, and therefore the waters were calmer; creating wonderful reflections.

Spring Daffodils

Spring Daffodils  5" by 7"
I went out to Lapham Peak State Park to paint this past week, and was happy to discover some daffodils blooming in one of the fields.  I love this time of year, when leaves are just coming out and have that light yellow green color.  Perfect day to paint!

The Summer Cafe

The Summer Cafe  9" by 12"
I loved the red paper lanterns hanging along the light strand at this little outdoor cafe.  It makes me think of when I was young, and paper lanterns like this were very popular.  This painting was done in the Historic Third Ward in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

The Meadows

The Meadows  12" by 12"
This is another painting from Augusta, Missouri. I loved the hilly terrain of the wine country.  The wild flowers were just beginning to come out, and it was so peaceful here.

Aged to Perfection

Aged to Perfection  9" by 12"
This piece was painted at the Augusta Missouri Plein Air Event this April.  The theme was to paint something that was "aged to perfection".  Augusta is a small town (200 people) in the wine country in Missouri, and I fell in love with this little home built by Mr. Lowehhaupt in the mid 1800's.
